MADS Bonding

My Senior Project team renamed from DMAV to MADS (Miniature Aircraft Deployment System) a while back. We've been spending lots of quality time together, but it is paying off!

Our Preliminary Design Review was last week, and we received many compliments from the Professional Advisory Board. The Power Point that we showed can be found here.

Last weekend, we all went down to Arvada to visit Frank, an RC Plane expert. He was generous to buy us a Sub-Vehicle and loan it to us while we waited on our funding from the school. He treated us to pizzas and beverages, and we spent the afternoon geeking it up with some toys. :)

Our plane!!!

Frank has a lot of planes...

The big 2-1

I turned 21 yesterday!

The day started off wonderfully with a visit from my parents...they dropped off flowers from their garden and chocolate chip cookies (which my mom spent time writing "21" in chocolate on each individual cookie).

Thanks, mom and dad!

I then headed to the DMV. I was second in line, but the "computers went down"...which meant they invalidated my ID (punched a hole through it), I waited for 2 hours to get my picture taken, and left without a new ID. It was awesome...especially since the woman in front of me in line and two women behind me in line all went through just fine. MURPHY'S LAW!

Rest of the day was the usual...school school school. Didn't want to do the classic Pearl Street pub crawl, so I invited some friends to go to Southern Sun, a great Boulder restaurant with amazing food and famous brews.

Here is the card that Ryan made for me:

My first beer! A blackberry wheat.

The boys are telling stories.

My senior projects team celebrated with me! Goofy kids.

My dinner of delicious cheeseburger + fries and a Southern Sun Sampler!

The night ended with some free cheesecake from our waitress. Yay for birthdays! :)
