Washington DC

I'm part of SWE, (Society of Women Engineers), which is a national organization for...you guessed it, women engineers! I was lucky enough to be nominated as a SWEFL (a SWE Future Leader--they love their acronyms, by the way), which meant an all-expenses-paid trip to Wash DC for the annual Collegiate Leadership Forum.

This is where regional representatives (there are 10 regions in the US) receive their training for the year. It's a quick weekend packed full of workshops and idea exchanges...it was a ton of fun!

The three of us were the only ones from Region I...and Colorado! My roommates for the weekend, Andrea and Islin.

We were able to escape the conference for a few hours to visit the many memorials and sights in DC, but since it was a night tour, most of my pictures didn't come out.

We got some pretty cool souvenirs from the conference...our leadership coaches work for companies like The Limited (they own Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Express, etc.) and Proctor and Gamble, so we got some pretty girly schwag to take home for free.

Good ideas, good friends, good schwag, and good food...all for the $4 I paid for the metro between the airport and the hotel. Not bad. :)
